Fisherman's Wharf

Shanghai, China

This competition entry for an industrial parcel along Shanghai’s waterfront celebrates the forgotten legacy of admiral Zheng He and his 15th c. global explorations.  Converting old fish markets into incubator office uses, retail with water’s edge promenades, a new mall, and a maritime museum, carving out a new marina featuring a replica of Zheng He’s ship, all combine to create new destinations for this neglected district of the city.
